Vandas do very well at normal room temperatures between 18 and 27 degrees Celsius. At a proper temperature and lots of light the plant will grow actively throughout the year.
To Vanda orchid flower has a lot of light. Avoid direct sunlight in summer: turn on color plant's leaves and pale light. Also, shrivel leaves. Too little light will cause the leaves dark colors. The plant will not bloom. Upon opening of the flower must be still on this color.
Extra light in the flowering stage creates a beautiful bright flower color.
After ten days, the flowers are grown to their full size.
Fill the vase with water twice a week during sunny, warm periods. In cloudy and cool periods do this only once a week.
When filling of the vase with water, sucking the roots as a sponge on the water. After about thirty minutes appear no air bubbles and the roots are saturated. Then remove the remaining water from the vase. The plant now has for several days stored enough water in the roots.
Use a normal, balanced fertilizer for Vanda. This is available from a florist or garden center. Add the fertilizer once a month to the water.
When the flowers have finished blooming, the flowers branch can be cut. After a few months, depending on the present amount of natural light, there will appear a new branch. Place the plant for several weeks in a cool place to encourage flowering. This place should never be colder than 15 degrees Celsius.
Interim Vanda should receive normal water, the plant does not rest like other orchid species. In the dark, do not put away: let the plant stand in a bright place.
