The better the Dahlia is looked after, the more fun you will experience with these plants. Dahlia grow in every type of soil. Always give the Dahlias enough water. Make sure that the soil is always moist. On hot days the Dahlias can evaporate a lot of water through their leaves. Too much water causes slow growth, little flowers and yellowing of the leaves.
Dalia's fertilize with granules once every 4 weeks. If you fertilize with liquid food in irrigation water then every two weeks is recommended.
Because of their origin (Mexico) they are not hardy. They therefore thrive best at temperatures between 15 and 25 °. The plant does not tolerate frost.
Cut out the old flowers regularly, the more often the better. The result will be, even more flowers.
To give the ground some air, it is wise to rake the ground occasionally.
Dahlias grow at its best at a sunny spot.
Dahlia, for a lot of flowering fun in your garden!
