The Chamaedorea Metallica is native to the rainforests of Mexico and often grows in limestone soils up to 600 m above sea level. The Chamaedorea Metallica palm, the only palm with a dark metallic blue-green sheen which tends towards a bronze color. The leaves are in the form of a fishtail and grow straight up in which the sheet to 75 to 40 cm long and 30 cm wide. It thrives best is moist humus rich soil and regular mist is recommended. Plants are not hardy but will tolerate low temperatures.
